Dam of Pesniar

Excerpts from articles with reference to Pesnia:

Parkinson, Mary Jane. "Dams of Distinction: Tersk-Bred Imports". Arabian Horse World November 1983. Jay Shuler Co., Inc., Palo Alto, California. p. 460.

"Pesnia was bred to Nabeg for six consecutive years at Tersk. Two of the foals died, and two of them have come to the United States. *Poslannitsa was first, arriving with the first group of imports in May 1976. She is now owned by Dan and Rita Kelly of Kellydun. She has produced three fillies for the Kellys (through Volume 44 of the stud book), one by U.S. National Champion *Marsianin and two by U.S. and Canadian National Champion Stallion *Muscat.

Pesnia's son *Pesniar established himself as a superior sire at Tersk, and American (and other) breeders tried for years to buy him. He just wasn't for sale; he was needed at Tersk. Finally, OPL Associates was able to extricate him - for one million dollars. The attendant media coverage was appropriate for the occasion - the highest price paid for an Arabian stallion to date outside the U.S. *Pesniar was both U.S. and Canadian Top Ten Stallion in 1982. He is syndicated and standing at Lasma."
