Topol is called a “Triple Crown” winner in Russia, as he is winner of the Derby, the Budenny, and the Great Summer Prize and had a record of nine wins in 16 starts. Two of his 1972 sons, Patriot and *Novator, also have excellent racing records, with Patriot winning 12 of 29 starts, and *Novator winning seven of 21 starts. *Novator was imported by Crown Point Arabians and was sold at auction at Scottsdale in 1981 for $145,000 to Mario Tabraue of Florida. Kuviet is another successful Topol son on the track, having won the Great Summer Prize and the Derby at age three.
*Statuss was imported in 1980 and joined the Tersk-bred stallion *Princip at Valhalla Arabians at Spokane, Washington.
Topols’ first foals were born at Tersk in 1972, the last in 1978 for a total of 75. Ten Topol daughters were listed as broodmares as of 1980. Topol died in 1977, and his son Naftalin, out of Nepriadwa by Pomeranets, is being considered to carry on the Topol line at Tersk."
