Excerpts from articles with reference to Prikhot:
Parkinson, Mary Jane. "Dams of Distinction: Tersk-Bred Imports". Arabian Horse World November 1983. Jay Shuler Co., Inc., Palo Alto, California. p. 461.
"Prikhot may be said to have been bred to run. Her sire Sport holds five race records in Russia, established in 1960-1962 (when he was three, four, and five years old) at distances from 1,800 meters to 4,000 meters. Prikhot's dam Perikola held the record for 1,600 meters as a two-year-old until 1977, and Perikola's sire Knippel holds the record for 7,000 meters in 8.59.7, established in 1959 when he was five.
Prikhot has followed the racing heritage. She holds four racing records at ages two, three, and four for distances from 1,200 meters to 2,000 meters.
In 1973, Prikhot produced her first foal, *Pena, imported and owned by Dr. A. Gordon Kluzak of Calgary. *Pena was in the group of 1976 imports and has produced four foals bred by Dr. Kluzak: a colt by Nasmeshnik, a filly by Tornado, and two fillies by *Muscat. Prikhot's daughter *Parta was sold to Holland in 1978, then was imported to the United States in 1980 by Bob Stratmore, who sold her to Windy Hill Farm at West Concord, Minnesota. She arrived in foal to *Padsnejnik and produced the colt *Partnik, bred by Robbie Den Hartog of Kossack Stud, Amsterdam.
Prikhot's production record at Tersk is a foal each year 1973 through 1980, all but one by Aswan. Her son Pancir (by Aswan), foaled in 1974, has followed the racing history of the family with a record of five wins and seven second places in 17 races.
Prikhot is the only Sport daughter in this study and one of two representatives of the Rodania family line."
